2010 Chardonnay, 'Center of Effort'
The 2010 vintage strikes a lovely aromatic balance between juicy Mandarin citrus tones and full, rich notes of baking spices and custard. In the mouth, the fruit character tends toward poached pear, with notes of star anise and Asian cardamom tempered by a full, creamy palate. Our cool-climate location in the Edna Valley lends crispness and a classic structure to support the rather opulent flavors. This backbone of natural acidity will allow for gracious development in your cellar for several years. (Only 232 cases were produced)
92 points - Antonio Galloni, (Vinous, July 2013) 'Bright lemon, white flowers and tangerine peel meld together in the 2010 Chardonnay. A beautifully focused, vibrant wine, the Chardonnay possesses lovely verve, tension, and energy. The 2010 spent 22 months in French oak barrels, 45% new, all of which the wine handled with grace. This is a terrific showing from Center of Effort. Drinking window: 2013-2017'
